Joseph Kam

Joseph has more than 20 years of experience in the finance and corporate sectors. He has served in an international accounting firm, Moore Stephens, where he acquired considerable knowledge, experience and exposure in management consultancy, taxation & accounting and auditing standards.
He has also worked with Mezzanine Capital (M) Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Arab-Malaysian Corporation Berhad Group of which he played a key role in the venture capital activities, business & strategic planning, corporate investments, corporate restructuring, general management and monitoring of portfolio companies involved in various diversified businesses such as retail, point of sales advertisement, bonded warehouse, IT and manufacturing company. Under his portfolio, the notable successful ventures made by MCM were Anakku and Sin Kwang Plastic Sdn. Bhd. of which it was subsequently monetized via the listing in the Bursa Malaysia.
Other notable achievements were his involvement in a corporate exercise of a listed company that encompasses a Scheme of Arrangement and a Regularisation Plan. Under the SOA the company has successfully implemented of which involved in a ‘haircut’ of the scheme creditors debts and banks.
Joseph was also responsible for the fundraising activities of a listed company of which including the private placement of shares, the issuing of new shares, the Rights Issues and Irredeemable Convertible Preference Shares and the issuing of Islamic Debt papers, i.e. SUKUK papers.
Henry Liu

Henry has vast experience in Audit, Finance and Accounting. He was graduated with Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting.
He was an auditor with Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (“KPMG”), Taipei Taiwan for approximately 2 years before he moved on to join Hualon Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia as their Chief Financial Officer. There he was placed in charge of the daily operations of which include the accounting systems setup, cash flow planning and management, fund raising via the financial institution and IPO planning.
Henry was also the Managing Director (“MD”) of Kedah Wafer Emas Sdn. Bhd. from 2000 to 2007. As the MD, he was placed in charge of the overall performance of the company of which include fund raising, banking facilities, financing and company’s restructuring.
Thereafter he moved on to work with other corporate organization holding the position of Managing Director in Advance RFIC (S) Pte. Ltd in Singapore before he moved on his role as a Chief Executive Officer for GEMOS Technology Pte. Ltd. in China. Henry came back to Malaysia in 2012 and has worked in a few companies in Malaysia holding the position of Chief Financial Officer.
James Loy

James holds a Bachelor of Commerce (major in Accounting) degree from the Australian National University. He has over 20 years working experience in companies ranging from start-ups, public listed and investment banks. He started his career in internal audit with the Malayan United Industries Berhad (“MUI”) Group, performing financial and compliance audit on companies involved in industries such as retailing, stockbroking, hotel and insurance. Subsequently, he moved to the Executive Chairman’s office to perform financial and investment portfolio reviews and monitoring.
After leaving the MUI Group, James spent the next 16 years in investment banks with the corporate finance and the investment banking coverage divisions. As the project head, his responsibility involved coordinating with different departments within the investment bank and leading the corporate deals from the preliminary originating stage until the execution and completion of the deals. The corporate deals involved both equity and debt deals ranging from listing exercises, merger and acquisitions, privatisation, restructuring, equity fund raising and bond issuance, amongst others.

Mr Lok Choon Hong is a qualified lawyer (non-practising) for Malaysia and Singapore and a registered patent, trademark and industrial design agents for Malaysia. He has been actively involved in the intellectual property (IP) field for the past twenty (20) years. He was awarded the world’s top 1000 patent practitioners by IAM magazine from year 2013 to 2020 and an awardee of IPSTARs award by Managing IP Magazine in 2019 & 2020 for Patent Prosecution works.
Mr Lok holds a Master of Laws Degree from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, an executive MBA degree from INSEAD, France/Singapore and E-MBA from Tsinghua University, China.

Dato’ Anuar Md Nor
Professor; Academician; Venture Capitalist; Business Advisor; IP valuator.
Dato’ Anuar Md Nor is an experienced venture capitalist and had evaluated over 200 ventures since 1996. He was the CEO of PNB Equity Resources Sdn. Bhd., the private equity arm of PNB and Malaysian Technology Development Corporation, of which he raised more than RM200 million venture capital funds to invest in leading companies in Malaysia. An investee company, Globetronics Bhd., subsequently become a major company in the global semiconductor services sector. He also invested in companies in Silicon Valley, with several successful exits for MTDC.
In 2000, he established his own consulting company to help technology-based companies to achieve fast growth. He has specialized in the area of business and intellectual property valuation which he had conducted more than 70 valuations. He is now an advisor, providing intellectual property valuation services for Adastra IP.
Dato’ Dr. Anuar has both engineering and business backgrounds. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in University of Birmingham; an MBA in University of Bradford; Master of Science in Management of Technology in Sloan School of Management and Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and an PhD in Business Management in Universiti Teknologi MARA.
He is a visiting professor in Techno-Entrepreneurship at Azman Hashim International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia; and an adjunct professor at Asia e University, a dual-mode private university in Malaysia. He has authored the book Securing Private Equity in Malaysia. His books authored two academic books, The Palm Oil Multinational From Malaysia and The Role of Networks in Internationalization Process.
Yeoh Seng Hooi

As a company director and consultant, Mr. Yeoh has more than 25 years of practical senior management and executive board experience in public and private companies across several industries.
Amongst others, he was the general manager for Federation of Malaysian manufacturers, Corporate Director of PLB Engineering Berhad, Executive Director of Actionwear (M) Sdn. Bhd., Executive Director of Chee Wah Corporation Bhd., Investment Manager of South East Asia venture Investment, Assistant Manager (Credit and Marketing Department) of United Overseas Banks, Management Consultant of East Point Group and Assistant Manager (General Manager Department) of Penang Development Corporation.

Mr. Yeoh holds a Master of Economic Management (MEM) from University Sains Malaysia. The thesis that he has completed while doing his MEM is in Venture Capital as a Public Good: Malaysian Public Sector Responses. He graduated with a BA in Economics from The University of Chicago under a full scholarship from the university and was awarded General Honours.
Robert Lomnitz

Robert Lomnitz has been investing capital into early stage businesses and emerging and frontier markets for over 20 years, having started his career as a lawyer on Wall Street.
From 1999 to 2002, he worked in the technology industry in the UK during the first dot-com boom and bust, managing firstly family office money and then the Venture business of a UK LSE traded company.
In 2002, he co-founded a UK asset management business which ultimately became Duet Private Equity Limited ( www.duetgroup.net) and currently manages in excess of $2 billion of institutional money across a number of emerging market funds.
He was regulated under the Financial Services Authority of the U.K. as an advisor and investment manager from 2002-2009.

John Gan

Mr. John is a Canadian and has over 35 years of international hands-on experience working in the Financial Services industry. He has held senior leadership positions across multiple sectors including investment banking, money markets, foreign exchange, insurance and capital markets.
He was a corporate executive and senior officer for several multinational companies, including as Asia’s Head of Agency Development for global insurer Allianz, where he was responsible for eight countries and 50,000 sales agents.
John founded and led 360 Blockchain Inc., a Canadian publicly listed company, and 360 Securities Ltd., a registered exempt market securities dealer. He is also currently a Special Advisor to the Canadian Securities Exchange.

Encik Suhaimi Badrul Jamil
